Best value AI plans: usage per dollar (Oct 2026)

When a company publishes multipliers (like “5x Pro”), we can work out how much usage each extra dollar buys. Only within the same company, because their units differ.

Value questions

Which AI plan gives the most usage per dollar?

Within each company's own plans: Claude Max 20x and Google AI Ultra (20x) give about 2x the usage per dollar of their $20 base plans, and X Subscription Ultra gives about 2x per dollar vs X Plus. Across companies, usage units aren't comparable, so we don't rank them against each other.

Why can't you compare usage per dollar across companies?

Each company measures usage differently (messages, compute, shared pools) and most don't publish the base amount. Multipliers only make sense inside one company's plan ladder.
